Parka Weather

Parka: Nordstrom Rack (similars: 1, 2, 3) // Top: Forever 21 // Pants: American Eagle // Shoes: Calvin Klein (similar here) // Lips: Revlon 'Cherries in the Snow'

Blacksburg is an incredibly cold, windy place in the winter. I mean the windchill here is ridiculous and the cold will freeze your bones. I spend a lot of time here bundled up, but I also like to look a little glam from time to time. I found this parka at Nordstrom Rack and it was soo warm and comfortable when I tried it on that I just had to buy it. Now that it's officially parka weather, it's time for the annual challenge of trying to look kind of cute while also trying not to freeze. I thought this parka was perfect, so I kept it simple with an all-black look and some nude suede pumps. Granted, some boots would have been more comfortable (and warmer), but some sacrifices have to be made ;).

Do you guys have any tips for staying fashionable while it's freezing?

Pop of Pink

Hat: Forever 21 // Coat: H&M (sold out, other options: 1, 2) // Top: Forever 21 // Pants: American Eagle // Shoes: Nike via Nordstrom Rack (similar)

I wear a lot of black, cream, camel, and grey in the winter. I love an all-neutral look, but it's also really fun to add pops of color. Here, I chose my hot pink beanie to add some extra oomph to this outfit (and to also keep my ears warm). I love cold-weather accessories because they can be both fashionable and practical. Adding a hat or a scarf of a bright color or cool pattern can change an entire outfit and make it a lot more fun.

Gray + Berry

Coat: Tahari // Top: Forever 21 (similar) // Skirt: Forever 21 (similar) // Boots: Ivanka Trump

This coat and these over-the-knee boots are my two favorite items in my winter wardrobe this year. Both were splurges for me, so I try to get as much wear out of them as possible. It helps that this jacket is super warm and that these boots are comfortable.

Sweater: Forever 21 // Jeans: Urban Outfitters // Shoes: Nike via Nordstrom Rack (another pair I like here) // Clutch: Etsy // Lips: MAC Ruby Woo

The sporty-chic trend has been around for a while now, but I could not figure out how I felt about it. I picked up these Nikes from Nordstrom Rack for a great price and decided to try to incorporate them into my non-gym attire. I have to say, it's really nice to wear sneakers out and about. I hope this trend sticks around because it's so comfortable and fun.

Neutrals + Pops of Red

Sweater: Forever 21 // Jeans: Urban Outfitters // Shoes: Calvin Klein (old, similar here) // Clutch: Etsy // Hat: Target // Lips: MAC Ruby Woo

I am obsessed with this new clutch I got from a vendor on Etsy named "Anything But Plain Jane". The clutch is great quality for a good price, and the seller was so kind and accommodating. I highly recommend her shop (and no this is not an ad or anything!). I had the choice of a black or red zipper, but I liked the idea of a pop of red. With this outfit, I went with this theme and applied my red nail polish (which is Thrill of Brazil by OPI) and my favorite red lipstick.

Coffee Run

Coat: H&M // Scarf: H&M (old, similar) // Shirt: Forever 21 (another option here) // Jeans: American Eagle // Bag: Target (similar) // Shoes: TJ Maxx // Lips: Cherries in the Snow by Revlon

Last year I snagged these boots for FIFTEEN dollars at TJ Maxx. They're surprisingly really comfortable and I can't resist buying cute boots on a sale, so the comfort and versatility of this pair made them a winner. It is definitely a cold one today, so I had to pack extra layers, proven by the thick plaid scarf hanging out of my bag.

I hope you guys are staying fashionably warm!
