Plaid & Stripes

Jacket: Michael Kors (similar) // Top: TJ Maxx (similar) // Jeans: American Eagle // Booties: Steve Madden // Hat: Target // Scarf: H&M (old, similar here

So my scarf is covering most of my shirt, but mixing patterns is a fun and easy way to make any outfit more fun and interesting. I snagged this fedora from Target for 17 bucks and it's perfect for pretty much any outfit - especially when your hair is greasy haha. Something about hats just make all my outfits feel much more put together.

What are you thoughts on mixing patterns? yay or nay?

Fall Accessories

Hat: Forever 21 (similar) // Shirt: Target // Jeans: American Eagle // Bag: Steve Madden via TJ Maxx (similar) // Scarf: H&M (similar here) // Boots: Ivanka Trump

My favorite thing about fall is all of the accessories: hats, scarves, boots, and new bags make fall twice as fun. I have been majorly crushing on all things plaid and fringed lately, so I've been all over my fringed bag and oversized plaid scarf.

Wrap Coat

Coat: Tahari (on sale!!!) // Jeans: Urban Outfitters // Shoes: Calvin Klein (old, similar) // Sweater: H&M (old)

Guys I have been wanting this coat for SO long so it went on sale at Nordstrom I snatched it up as fast as I could. This color is absolutely gorgeous and I couldn't be happier with my purchase (thanks Nordstrom!). I have this problem where I spent all my money on jackets because I convince myself that I need them but I'm thinking I need to start investing in other areas now that I've added this gem to my closet.

Cream & Camel

Sweater: Forever 21 // Shorts: TJ Maxx (skirt option) // Boots: Ivanka Trump

I am 100000% serious when I say I wish I could wear these boots every day. They are so comfortable and make all of my outfits so much better.

Anyway, I love mixing neutrals together to create a look. When in doubt, I just throw on different neutrals and call it a day. Luckily, an all-neutral look always seems to come out looking clean and simple - just the way I like it.

Fall Flares

Jeans: Urban Outfitters (old, similar here and here) // Top: Forever 21 // Bag: Steve Madden via TJ Maxx (similar here) // Shoes: Steve Madden (last season, but I REALLY want these)

It's really hard for me not to wear these jeans every day. Last time I wore them on the blog was back in August, but I decided to re-wear and style them for fall. I'm currently obsessed with fringe anything, so this bag I bought years ago from TJ Maxx is right up my alley.

Everyday Glam

Sweater: PacSun (similar) // Jeans: Urban Outfitters // Shoes: Aldo (Similar) // Earrings: Target (similar)

I don't know about you guys, but sometimes I forget about myself. My (amazing) boyfriend and I are in a long-distance relationship, so there are days that I don't put any effort into what I look like. I feel like I don't have anyone to impress, so it doesn't matter if I wear same pair of yoga pants all week. But dressing up and putting on lipstick and some jewelry makes me feel so much better. I swear I study more and am so much more productive when I actually put some clothes on that aren't made of nylon/spandex. I go to school in this little mountain college town where the most dressed up people get for class is a pair of workout leggings and a sorority t-shirt. A lot of times I feel like I look so out of place when I put effort into my appearance - lipstick, jewelry, heels - but it makes me feel good, so I do it anyway. Life is wayyy too short to dress down for other people. Wearing what you want and feeling good about yourself is more important than the fear of standing out.

Thanks for stopping by! And thanks for reading my rant if you made it this far haha!

Leather and Knits

Sweater: Forever 21 // Pants: American Eagle // Shoes: Aldo (old, similar look here)

It is officially COLD in Southwest Virginia. I even had to break out my wool coat tonight because of the chill. Anyway, I love pairing different textures and materials. The edginess of leather paired with the coziness of a knit sweater is a combo I will always adore.
