Make-Up Must Haves

So sorry for the lack of posts lately, guys. Classes just started back up this week and I spent last week moving into my new house at school - which is still in progress. I am so excited about being back at school with all my friends, but I have had no time to post! So, here is a quick post about the 5 beauty products I can't live without.

I do not wear much make-up, nor do I wear it often, so when I do I pick good quality products that aren't cakey or heavy. I don't wear real foundation; instead, I opt for this tinted moisturizer by Laura Mercier. I have an olive skin tone, which makes it SO hard to find foundations or moisturizers that match well, but this product in "Caramel" works so well and provides just enough coverage to smooth out my skin without being too heavy.
I don't wear eyeshadow, I just wear a little bit of eyeliner and mascara. Smashbox has the best eye make up products and I will never use anything else. I use the smashbox eyeliner to do a subtle cat-eye line, and the Smashbox hyperlash mascara finishes off the eye by lengthening and thickening my lashes without leaving gross mascara chunks.
I use NARS bronzer in "Casino" and NARS blush in "Orgasm". Both amazing products that I couldn't imagine trading in for something else.

So there ya have it! What are your make-up must haves?

Fall Fresh Booties

Here are some of the booties I've been coveting for this coming fall. The Rag and Bone shoes are a TOTAL splurge that I will never make (probably) but I love them so much I honestly considered it for a minute or two. I love the burgundy/wine color of those and the Cole Haan booties (3). It's nice to add a pop of color in the Fall among all the neutrals that are all around. I'm actually more of a fan of booties than I am of tall boots. While I own a pair of amazing Steve Madden riding boots that I've had for about 7 years (crazy, right?!), I love the easy slip on style of booties.

What boots are you guys craving for Fall? Let me know in the comments!

This is a really easy and simple hairstyle that I wear when my hair is a little greasy or if I just feel like having it all neatly tucked back and out of my way. I love braids - they make it look you tried really hard when really it just takes a few seconds!

How to:

1. French braid a big section of your hair starting at the top of one ear and working towards the other ear.
2. Keep braiding past the ear and around the base of your neck until you reach the ear you started at.
3. Braid the rest of the loose hair and tie with a clear elastic.
4. Twist and tuck the loose braided part around the back of your head however you want and pin it in place
5. Voila!

I know these directions are a little bit confusing so if you have any questions or want a tutorial just comment or e-mail me!

This is just a quick post featuring my favorite shoe trend from the past few months: ankle strap heels. I love the simplicity of this style and they make it so easy to dress up an average outfit into something chic and stylish. I am yearning for a pair in nude but I've been trying to curb my shoe no avail.

Are you guys fans of this trend?

Yesterday my family, my boyfriend and I made the trip up to NYC to see my older sister's art show! I know the pictures that I took of her work are horrendous but she is so incredibly talented I had to make a post about it. This isn't really much of an outfit post because the art show ended up being at this super casual cafe, which was so cute and intimate. I wore my Zara skort and a light blue t-shirt. I was wearing my ankle-strap heels, but packed flats for walking around, so in pictures you'll see I'm wearing my cheetah print flats instead.
Mitch, my boyfriend, had never been to NYC before so we obviously had to get the cheesy Times Square picture and walk around all night in the bright lights! We had so much fun and I wish we could have stayed longer.

If you would like to contact my sister about her art, e-mail

Shirt: TJ Maxx (unknown brand) // Skirt: Max Studio via TJ Maxx // Shoes: Dolce Vita via TJ Maxx // Bag: Michael Kors via TJ Maxx // Ring: Lucky Brand via TJ Maxx

If you know me in person or read my blog at all, you know I get a large portion of my wardrobe from TJ Maxx. A lot of people are skeptical about places like TJ Maxx and Marshalls, but if you know how to look, you can find AMAZING items and for great prices. So, I decided to do an outfit post featuring an outfit made up of items ALL bought from TJ Maxx. Yes, even the two Michael Kors bags that have been featured in my posts before are from TJ (and for half the price of what they would cost in the MK store). The only thing not from TJ in this post is my necklace, which was given to me as a gift by my boyfriend.

Anyway, I decided to put together a simple but adorable look using neutral pieces that you can mix and match with countless different outfits. Not to mention, most of this outfit contains staple pieces by well-known designers. Don't be afraid to search the racks at TJ Maxx and other places like it - because you will find AMAZING deals!

Romper: Anthropologie (old, other floral rompers: 1, 2, 34) // Shoes: Steve Madden (old, very similar here) // Bag: Michael Kors (this season's similar version here) // Sunnies: ASOS // Necklace: Gifted

I love the ease and look of a romper. Not only do you not have to worry about matching a top and a bottom, but rompers are also so cute and comfortable at the same time. I got this floral number from Anthropologie a few years ago, but it continues to be the perfect look to throw on in the warmer months. I finished the look off with some braided-roped wedges and my chunky cat-eye sunnies. I'm probably really boring in the sunglasses department but I just love this pair!

I hope you guys enjoy!
